The Fagarasului Country is a historical region of Transylvania, located along the middle course of the Olt river, with its center in the Fagaras Fortress.

The archeological research of the last decades discovered a series of Neolithic settlements at Calbor, Halmeag, Fagaras and Felmer. Settlements from the Bronze Age have been discovered at Cuciulata, Sercaia, Beclean, Mandra, Hoghiz, Savastreni and Ungra. Currently, the rural, ecumenical and equestrian tourism has developed in the area.

Fagarasului Fortress, whose construction began in 1310, is the most imposing monument of the region, being well preserved.

Although it is called "Country", the term does not imply any political, social or administrative statute.
